Karey Was Able to Achieve 95% Pain Relief with HFX
When Karey fell while doing a painting job about 10 years ago, he was initially diagnosed with a broken leg and torn muscles in his chest but later found out he had a collapsed disc that was the cause of his debilitating leg and back pain.
A lumbar laminectomy in 2016 decreased Karey’s leg pain but his back pain persisted. “I was unable to walk the short distance from my car to the house without stopping because of the pain,” Karey recalled. “I also had to stop nearly all of my leisure activities such as working out & playing in a rock and roll band.”
Injections and nerve ablations failed to help and he began taking a lot of prescription pain medications. “In the past I struggled with addiction so being dependent on pain medications really concerned me,” Karey explained.
In June 2019 Karey took Dr. Debi McCutcheon’s advice to do an HFX trial and when it successfully reduced his pain, he proceeded with his HF10 implant the next month.
“Now that HFX has given me 95% pain relief, I am off all pain medications and recently celebrated nine years of sobriety,” Karey said. “I am also working out again & playing with my band.”
