See How Wendy Was Able to Get Back to the Things She Loved Doing
Wendy was left with debilitating chest and upper back pain after thoracic surgery in September 2018.
“I was unable to drive or ride in a car because of the pain and the pressure of the seatbelt,” Wendy recalled. “A light touch from my husband or fitted clothing caused me to flinch with pain. The activities of daily living were a struggle. Even holding my newborn grandson was too painful.”

Numerous injections proved to be ineffective in relieving Wendy’s pain and medications left her feeling tired and sluggish. “I was chair-bound and depressed, until I met Dr. Mary Truslio, who recommended an HFX trial,” Wendy explained. The successful trial took place in August 2019 and Wendy received her implant two months later.
“Since the implant I’ve been able to get back to the things I love doing,” Wendy said. “I can hold my now 1-year-old grandson, bake and crochet and I’m able to enjoy my boat — even in choppy water!”
Wendy has even cut her pain medication dosage in half and no longer sleeps all day and night. “My husband is happy to have his wife back and I am so happy to have my life back thanks to HFX!”
