“HFX gave me my life back,” said Larry, a 76-year-old jewelry center owner and passionate golfer.
“Before I got my implant, I was in continuous agony. I took Vicodin for 24 years to try to manage the pain – and keep playing golf — but overall, I didn’t have much of a life.”
Dr. Julian Grove recommended an HFX trial to Larry and on the third day of his May 2017 trial Larry woke up without any significant pain. “I was in tears because I hadn’t felt like that since 1989,” Larry recalled. “My pain before the trial was ‘off the charts’.”

Dr. Lisa Stearns scheduled Larry’s implant for later in May 2017 and a month after that Larry was able to stop taking Vicodin. “My mood is better overall, and my employees tell me I am no longer glassy-eyed and forgetful. I am also working with a golf-specific physical therapist to get my strength back so I can get back to golfing soon.”
“I tell everyone who talks to me about their back pain to consider HFX,” Larry said. “HFX accomplished what epidurals, physical therapy and Vicodin couldn’t.”
