Alisha Tried Countless Treatments With No Relief, Until She Tried HFX
Alisha says that the pain relief she experienced during her December 2017 HFX trial was “the best early Christmas present ever.” It was also her first step toward living independently again.
“I can finally take care of myself again,” said Alisha, who began experiencing debilitating back and arm pain in 2012. “Ultimately, I had to rely on family members for my self-care, including such things as taking showers, brushing my teeth and getting dressed. They even had to cut up my food. I was completely sedentary. It was miserable.”
“I can actually think about the future and the possibilities it holds.”
Before consulting with Dr. Vernon Williams and Dr. Tim Davis, Alisha tried multiple nerve block injections, physical and occupational therapy, water and mirror therapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation and various pain medications. At best she got temporary relief.
The doctors recommended an HFX trial and within the first three days, Alisha had dramatic pain relief. She received her implant in February 2018 and now has consistently manageable pain and much better functionality.
“I am in such better spirits now that pain doesn’t control my life,” Alisha said. “I can actually think about the future and the possibilities it holds.”
